In Numerology, you can find your Soul Urge number by calculating the vowels in your full birth name.

What is your Soul Urge number?

Your Soul Urge number is the hearts true desire. It’s the feeling you get deep down of what you really want to do with your life. Remember, your Ruling number (Life Path) is what you have chosen to do with your life, it’s what you would like to master in this life time. Whereas the Soul Urge is that yearning passion that burns within you whilst your Life Path is a lot broader than that.

The Soul Urge number is your spiritual calling, and it is your inner self. You will be able to relate to it as it will often outline your true passions and desires, and it is often something that you keep hidden.

The Ruling number (Life Path) and the Soul Urge number work nicely together, but you must discover what they both are and how you can get them to work together.

Calculating your Soul Urge number

The Soul Urge number is calculated by using the vowels (Such as A, E, I, O, U) in your full birth name. Please use the outline below, each letter equals a number. I have provided an example below to help you understand how to calculate your Soul Urge number.

Example:

Full birth name: Bob James Clarke

Letters from the number chart (above):

O (6)
A (1)
E (5)
A (1)
E (5)

Calculate:

6 + 1 + 5 + 1 + 5 = 18.

1+8 = 9.


Bob James Clarke’s Soul Urge number is 9.

Note – if you get 10, this means your Soul Urge number is 1. The numbers we work with within Numerology are: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 22. 11 and 22 are Master Numbers.
